In this webinar you will learn:

  1. How to select your North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.

This includes a review of the U.S. Census Bureau website with a demonstration on how to select your codes.

  1. How to select your National Institute of Governmental Purchasing Codes (NIGP).

This includes a review of the State Comptroller's Purchasing website with a demonstration on how to select your NIGP codes.

  1. How to apply for a Dun and Bradstreet DUNS number.

  2. A discussion on the requirement to register with each local government agency you want to sell your goods and services (including construction).

An actual registration is not shown. We will review the registration process for the City of Houston and METRO by reviewing their websites to help you understand what is required to register with these agencies including the information and documents required.

  1. About local government certification programs (MBE, WBE, SBE, and PDBE) with a discussion on the eligibility process and documents required for the City of Houston and METRO.

We do not review the websites or review how to complete a certification application package. The training provides you general information on local government certification programs.

  1. About the numerous local government agencies you can register with to sell your goods and services. A list of agencies and links to their procurement department website is provided.

  2. How to access other free workshops the UH PTAC offers in a variety of government procurement subjects.
