Target Audience: This introductory webinar is for individuals who are interested in pursuing federal government construction contracts either as a prime contractor or subcontractor.

Note: This webinar does not apply to individuals who sell:

• Goods

• Services other than Construction

• Construction Services to State & Local Government

• Architect & Engineering Services

There are a lot of opportunities in federal government construction contracting, however, to be competitive and considered for contract award, you must know how the federal government contracts for construction services.

This webinar will provide a top-level review of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 36 – Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts to include the procurement of construction services and the contract administration process. FAR Part 36 is used when the federal government procures construction services. (Architect-Engineer contracting is not addressed in this workshop.)

This webinar will educate you in:

• Understanding how to research the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

• The procurement methods used by the Federal Government – Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitation for Bid (IFB), and Request for Proposal (RFP) and when they are used.

• FAR Part 36 procurement and administration procedures including essential clauses, provisions, and forms used.

• Recognizing and understanding relevant requirements unique to a federal government construction procurement, including, but not limited to those under FAR Subpart 36.2, Special Aspects of Contracting for Construction, labor statutes, liquidated damages, bonding requirements, inspection, and payment for federal government construction contracts. We will also review FAR 36.3 Two-Phase Design-Build Selection Procedures.

Learning Objective: The objective of the webinar is to provide an introductory overview of how the federal government contracts for construction including the applicable clauses and provisions.
