Scarborough: I'm Certified, Now What?

You have received notification that your certification application with a government agency is approved and now you are eligible to compete for prime contract and subcontract opportunities. If you are unsure how to compete for these opportunities or how to market yourself to government agencies, this workshop will provide you information about how you can use the benefits of your certification to compete for government contracts. We will provide you information on:

• Government certifications – what are they and what value do they provide you?
• What should you do now that you are certified?
• Understanding the systems available to you to conduct market research to identify your target agencies to market your business.
• Recommendations for marketing to government representatives.
• The role of the government Small Business Representative and how they help you understand what an agency buys, and how they buy it.
• The role of the corporate Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) and how they can help you understand if their company buys your goods and services and how they buy them.

Each attendee will receive a copy of our Government Marketing Strategy Guide and Subcontracting Guide. The Government Marketing Strategy Guide provides you a process for developing a strategy to market to government representatives. The Subcontracting Guide provides you recommended actions to take to help improve your chances of winning subcontracts.

Target Audience: This workshop is intended for individuals who have an active certification with federal, state, and / or local government.

Learning Objective: The objective of this workshop is to provide you information on the actions you can take now that you are certified by a government agency.
